Course Overview
The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health is Europe's leading professional body for health and safety practitioners. Managing Safely is aimed at those people in an organisation who manage workforce health and safety. This exclusively run course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge they require to manage safely and effectively in line with their organisation's policy and best practice in Health and Safety.
Certification
On successful completion of the written and practical assessments for this course students will be awarded the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

This is a five day course but in certain circumstances can be presented over four days.

Course Programme
The Syllabus for Managing Safely includes:
- Safety management systems, the role of risk assessment and how safety management links with other aspects of management
- Risk assessment and risk control, including making an inventory of sources of hazards, identifying hazards associated with each source
- Preparing and using active monitoring checklists and implementing schedules for active monitoring
- Organising and conducting safety management reviews
- Identifying relevant legislation and obtaining advice or guidance
Examination
This course examination takes the format of both written and practical assessments.
Re-validation required every 3 years.

Teaching Methods
The course is taught using a number of teaching methods, including case studies, videos, exercises and examinations. A workbook is completed as the course progresses.
Location
This course is taught in house with an on-site trainer.
Costs
The course cost is £2,100 + VAT. Travel and accommodation are charged at cost.
