IOSH - Working Safely

Course Overview

One of a trilogy of courses accredited by IOSH, this course is designed to make employees aware of their responsibilities to themselves and their colleagues and their individual contribution to the health and safety of the company. It focuses on commonly found workplace hazards and their control and the importance of complying with the safe systems of work and procedures developed as a consequence of risk assessment.

Certification

On successful completion of the written and practical assessments for this course students will be awarded the IOSH Working Safely Certificate.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Duration

This is a one day course

Course Programme

The syllabus for Working Safely includes:

• Workplace precautions for source of hazards: fire, manual handling, electricity, display screen equipment, poor house-keeping, etc.
• Improving the organisation's safety performance, including reporting relevant accidents and incidents, monitoring work activities, commenting on health and safety policy, complying with requirements for control in safety management
• Co-operating with managers in safety activities, communicating on safety matters and identifying competencies required for safe working

Examination

The course examination takes the format of both written and practical assessments.

Teaching Methods

The course is tutor-led using a workbook to guide discussion and serve as delegates' reference manual on completion of the course.

Location

This course is taught in house with an on-site trainer.

Costs

The course cost is £750 +VAT. Travel and accommodation is charged at cost.
