Representatives of Employee Safety

Course Overview

Employee safety is a huge responsibility and this course is designed for those who are elected to, in consultation with their employer, represent sections of the workforce. Undertaken in-house, the course will provide delegates with the knowledge required to carry out their functions of representation, communication, hazard identification and safety promotion.

Certification

Delegates must successfully complete a final employee safety project and will be awarded a Discovery Consultancy Limited "Certificate of Satisfactory Completion".

This is a three day course.

• Introduction to Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations
• Functions of appointed representative
• Principles of communication
• Techniques of representation
• Work place hazards - recognition and control
• Risk assessment
• Accident prevention and investigation
• Safety and effective organisation

Teaching Methods

The course is taught using a number of teaching methods, including case studies, videos, written exercises and a final project.

This course is taught in house with an on-site trainer.
